Cardew has advised AEW UK REIT to help communicate the Company’s investment case and support the manager ahead of a continuation vote at the August 2020. Prior to our appointment, the market had not fully appreciated the 8pps annual dividend that AEWU had paid since IPO, or how the highly value-add and selective approach of acquiring assets where they believed they could add significant value to the portfolio with relatively small adjustments such as upward rent reviews or repurposing for alternative use. There was relatively little media profile, and few analysts followed the stock.

We have helped AEWU develop relationships with all the relevant journalists at the investment trade titles, a number of whom have written regular and consistently positive pieces on the stock, supported with stock columns at the nationals, and grown the analyst following. In addition, we have written award submissions resulting in AEWU winning Citywire’s Shares Magazine Property Investment Company of the Year 2022, the Property category at Investment Week’s Investment Company Awards at 2023, and Citywire’s best Property Trust for four years running (2020-2023). We have also secured a number of speaking slots for the investment managers on industry panels and events.
