Rupert joined Cardew Group in 2001 from a venture capitalist, where as an investor in start up companies both within the UK and Internationally, he gained first hand experience of the issues facing companies coming to the market. He has subsequently advised clients on a range of PLC and political issues, including M&A, flotations and Crisis Management. Advising clients ranging from FTSE 100 to AIM, in addition to private companies, Rupert’s major projects have ranged from the liquidation of NMEC (the Millennium Dome) to SAIC’s bid for, and subsequent collapse of MG Rover. Major corporate transactions have included Allied Domecq’s £9.3 billion acquisition by Pernod Ricard, and Scottish Power’s £11.6 billion sale to Iberdrola. Other current clients include Smiths Group PLC, Lonmin PLC, Chemring PLC, Xchanging PLC, AWG and ENW.
