During 12 years at Merrill Lynch he was Director, Marketing & Communications, for the Europe, Middle East, Africa region and subsequently Director of Corporate Communications for the Merrill Lynch International Private Banking Group. He joined Chancery Communications (subsequently acquired by Cardew) in 1999.
Earlier in his career he held senior posts in corporate communications at J Walter Thompson, Coopers & Lybrand and Streets Financial Strategy, where he was Joint Managing Director. He began his career as a journalist on The Times where he was Business Diary Editor, Business News Features Editor and Management Editor. He spent two years in government on secondment to the Department of Industry and is a graduate of New College, Oxford. He is the author of 'The City', published in 1973.
