For most public companies, high levels of media interest come at results time or when there is some piece of major news. Even for relatively infrequent media exposure of this kind, it is worthwhile for top management to ensure that they are properly equipped to do justice to themselves and their Company.
The likelihood, however, is that sooner or later almost every Company is likely to find itself at the centre of some unexpected media attention. These moments are nearly always difficult and demanding: they are less daunting for managements who have been trained.
The Cardew Group has in-house expertise in the form of four former journalists. To supplement our skills, we have also a strong team of external partners to ensure that we can provide all aspects of training to the highest standards.
Our courses, normally over a day or half-day (depending on numbers), are designed to give senior executives as much personal experience as possible of all types of press and broadcast interview. Immediate feedback is supported by subsequent training tapes, based on close analysis of each person’s performance over a range of interviews.
We are experienced also in preparing our clients for investor roadshows and appearances before Parliamentary Select Committees. Our focus here is to combine the best presentational practice with specialist advice, as appropriate, from our Investor Relations Unit or intensive question-based preparation by our account team.
